I decided to get the tape deck out and boy was it a headache but I managed to scrap up something from it and make a House and UK Funky EP with it. I sampled four songs from The Temptations Just My Imagination, Lil ‘ Kim Back Stabbers, Mary J Blige’s Changes I’ve Been Going Through and Chaka Khan Miss The Water which I recorded onto a tape deck and cleaned them up which was the worse bit and used RX10by Iztope to clean up the samples. It took four days after three attempts and I’m happy with this one but there are parts that were hard to clean like the tape slide and the warping sound which doesn’t sound too bad with the pitched effect on it. I might have to invest in some more tools to clean up the samples and get a good tape deck that doesn’t over slide or warp when playing it back as it sounds a headache in the mix and hard to clean up with just filter EQs alone but I will get better and research the products I need to do the job properly. Since I can’t clear the samples it’s a free download on Bandcamp and I will try and do some more acapella-based sampling with the tape deck in the future which will be all free and on Bandcamp the place where all my free downloads are based on. I wanted to improve the songs I make and I think I improved it on this EP which I hope to make more like this in the future but it’s hard when I’m making songs day after day with no breaks it kind of takes the fun and feels to the songs kind of like being over saturated. I will add the original songs to the inspirational section on this site in the music section of the main menu on this site for those who haven’t heard it or want to catch up.Â

This year’s Christmas mixtape off my radio Ghosting Radio and is winter and festive music. If you want more music like this please tune in 6.00 pm – 10.00 pm GMT every day of the week up until the 28th of December for more Christmas and winter vibes. It is a mixed bag of music from House to more synthy stuff which I made and released but now most of it is unreleased tracks which can be found on my radio and Soundcloud. Once again another year has gone by 2023 next up let’s hope it’s a better year but I knew 2022 was the year of big change and it was the queen died which was a massive shock even though she was getting on a bit. But I hope next year is better and more productive for me even though I’ve been busy throughout the year making stuff and trying to get my name out there a bit more. I hope next year is better than this current year the queen died and COVID wasn’t good to mention what happened in the news just before the queen died but I won’t mention that. I don’t know what I’ll be doing this Christmas probably nothing special but staying at home and surfing the internet as usual lol. I’m lucky really as I like to spend time alone and I haven’t got anyone to buy presents for only one person but I like it that way it’s so much better and people may think I’m unlucky but I would disagree with them. Even though I’m alone I still think Christmas is a special time of the year and is always great for get-togethers and having fun which is all that I’m about in life. When I went to London I used to go to the church on Christmas Eve and how thrilling that is hearing the choir and the service itself I’m sort of religious but I follow Christian values and some beliefs rather than a person in the sky and of course Jesus but I like to think I have good values. Â

I’ve made a new mixtape of my older tracks all related to public information films or PIFS and is synthy and House vibes. The tracks are from Mind Field, Unsafe Dummies and Danger Ahead and are from the PIFS from the 70s and 80s. I actually made a visual first, which I didn’t know what to do with, so after a long think, I thought I’d make a mix that turned into a mixtape/mix I’m still rendering and editing, but I will let you know when it’s ready. As I said a few times, PIFS are quite intimidating and as a child, I learned a lot from them like not to smoke in bed or play with matches and also turn the fire off when asleep all the things I do till this day. I don’t really watch TV nowadays I haven’t seen many PIFS on TV apart from the ads they should put them on at night and when people watch TV as I feel they are great for learning and keeping safe. My favourite PIFS are the Charlie Says series and the pylons PIFS I used to watch them late at night when I woke up in the middle of the night and some of them put me back to sleep as I was so scared like the Don’t Give Fire A Chance PIF and also the smoking in the sofa one that one scared me as I knew a lot of smokers. In fact, they always remind me of night-time around 2.00 am onwards and also the chocolate bar Trios which were probably because the ads were on in the night too but I thought that were marketed for kids. I remember once I nearly was electrocuted by a toaster actually a blue spark came out it was quite big and I was lucky enough not to be electrocuted but the first thing I thought of was the PIF where she nearly gets electrocuted by a toaster and I thought next time I won’t be as lucky so I binned it not only that it got me back into watching PIFS and I hunted them all down on YouTube I used to have a collection of all the old ones but I thought I should have learned from her mistakes but I was lucky though. As I said before the visual version is on its way and also it can be found on Soundcloud where I post all my stuff once I mastered and sorted them but they are all the mix version. Â

The last part of the series Synthia’s Mixtapes and is a free download on Bandcamp as they are tracks I once released and can’t put them out again as I’ve changed my artist name from Vision Of Colour to Gas No Light and those are the rules so I’m giving it away for free. The beats that I put on this mixtape are both upbeat and mellow tracks and all synthy stuff that are also instrumentals. There is a visual on its way which I’m uploading as we speak and that will be on my YouTube channel in the next hour or two so do lookout for it. The idea behind the mixtape was a synthesizer robot with all the latest and rarest music gadgets and tools and one tool was to play music which is what the robot is playing synth beats. I jumped on the mic too for the tags as I wanted to make it a proper mixtape experience so I added that and other stuff to it so it felt like a mixtape. I know mixtapes are usually Hip Hop and R’n’B but I wanted to make something different and not that overdone or at least there aren’t that many synthesizer mixtapes I can’t think of any, so with the spare tracks and an idea I made up this series this is the last one of the series and I won’t be going back to it again.

I made this album ages ago but under a different name but I changed the name and released it on the 21st of March a couple of years ago which is anti-racism on that day and a good day to release a synthy instrumental album on a day against racism. I would like to say it’s gotten better over the decades but I feel it’s gone both ways and now is just a race row or war at the worse with what you identify with, that’s how I feel. The album is about racism and how I feel about and deal with it and being in the middle of the race row which is where I exactly want to be. But my experiences have been good and bad for all the right and wrong reasons. They say I’m lucky to be biracial as I’m in the middle but I feel it’s not and get it from all sides from the strangest stuff to the obvious I have been called all sorts of names for my race and background but I don’t care and I’m proud of who I am and I really don’t see what all the fuss is about when it comes to disliking someone because of their nationality, be proud of all you are and it’s not your fault they think everyone is the same as the next person lol, please read a book though….the right one!

The third part of the series Synthia’s Mixtapes and is a free download on Bandcamp as they are tracks I once released and can’t put them out again as I’ve changed my artist name from Vision Of Colour to Gas No Light and those are the rules so I’m giving it away for free. I put these beats on a mixtape album as I wanted to release them again as I liked them but I couldn’t put them on Spotify etc so I decided to give it away as a free download and as part of a four part series of synthy or synergy – synth beats with energy. I like to make synth beats on top of the House and Jungle and Drum & Bass and the other genres that I touch on now and then like UK Garage and UK Funky but when it comes to playing the keyboard I like to play over synthy tracks as I have more reign on the projects and gives me more ideas like creative wise but I like to make lots of different beats.Â
