I made another sample pack this one is an 8-bit synth sample pack, in which I converted sounds from my DAW and synths I own into 8-bit samples. It was to for the game I made which is a Christmas game and called Elf Quest and that can be found on my other website randomgas.com it’s a platform game. The sounds I got from Omnisphere which I had plenty of sounds to choose from and as it is a Christmas game there are some Christmas sounds in there too. There are only synth one-shots in this sample pack and the rest of the stuff as seen in the demo tracks are from my own collection of samples and synthesizer plugins but feel free to add your own 8-bit drums and bass as it will enhance the 8-bit sound and make it sound more 8-bit. I’ve used some of the samples in my own works and used them on my gaming album to go with the game and I recorded myself making gaming beats with the sounds and that can be found on my YouTube channel or in the G.F.E. Video Hub in the main G.F.E. Hub in the main menu of this site. I used NCH Wavepad to convert the sounds to 8-bit and I also normalised them but some of the sounds need extra volume and maybe a bit of a snip at the start where there is a 3-second silence.
I decided to make another sample pack but this one is a vocal sample pack and has me and my friend’s spoken words, phrases and adlibs. Most of them I made quite some time ago and were from an old sample pack I made I just made some new ones and changed the FXs on the samples. The sample pack comes with clean samples with no FXs on and then the processed vocals with FXs which I used most of my FXs plugins like delay, reverb, filters and distortion and used plugins from Arturia and Soundtoy. The sample pack is 100% royalty-free and you are free to use them in your own works if you do use them feel free to email me at gasnolight@gmail.com with a link to the song you used with the samples I’m interested in seeing what you do with them. As always I had fun making the sample pack and getting the mic out again to shout some random things down the mic and I hope you find them useful. I also used some of my old stems from old songs I made and wrote as well and is spoken and some rusty singing, I’m not the best singer but I can sing just a little bit which can be heard a little on this sample pack. It was kind of hard to think of stuff to say and I thought it would be easier than it was so I ended up shouting anything that came to mind and kept the best bits which I like now. Most of them I wrote down on a piece of paper and spoke them over the mic but there are a few I just shouted down the microphone and were just random thoughts or feelings I had. As always this is a free download which you can find below along with some demo stuff.Â
A special album of songs I made from Public Information Films from mostly the 50s and onwards from America. Some of them are British Public Information Films otherwise called PIFS but mostly are from America from table manners, Marijuana, Communists, gambling and more. It’s an old album which I made around 2018 but I thought I’d give it away for free.Â
A quick Jungle/Drum and Bass mini album of tracks I made from 2017 onwards and features clips from Marilyn Monroe, Snow White, Dark And Lonely Water (Public Information Film,) Bill Clinton, Thunderbirds and the Pylon Public Information film. For more information on the tracks used alongside my track please head to G.N.L. Hub>Insprations in the main menu. Â
A special Halloween EP I made around 2019 and features clips from Twilight Zone, The House Of Wax, Teletubbies and Children Of The Corn. There were more tracks but they didn’t come out as well so I decided to make an EP instead of the ones I liked and came out alright.
A set of songs in mixtape form of US and UK public information films that I used in my tracks. I wanted to do another mixtape and thought it be a good idea to make a PIF or public information film album with some of my favourite tracks I made from 2017 onwards and are some of my older tracks.Â
I made another plugin and this one is going to be a series called Synergy trying to get that synth word in there somehow lol. The VST is for Windows and Mac and I made the sounds myself using Serum, I also made the GUI too which I’m now happy with. I had quite a few sounds already from what I had over the years of making sounds but I did add 20 more which I made from scratch. Once again some I am happy with and some I’m not but it is a free VST and I’m still a beginner so not all the sounds are perfect. I did add extra knobs like a filter, delay, reverb, chorus and some other knobs as I found some of the sounds were a bit dry but there are always knobs in the synth anyway. This VST was going to be a sampler from one of my old keyboards that aren’t midi and is a Yamaha but I am not sure if they would be happy if I resampled the whole collection on the keyboard and gave it away for free and I think is copyright infringement so I decided to make the sounds myself which I will be doing plenty more of in the future with various of plugins that you can make sounds from scratch with, with the right guide that is. My favourite part of making the plugin was doing the GUI and making the sounds which took some hours but is fun doing and as I said, lucky I had a bag full of sounds already which I tried to make better and upgrade a little. I tested it on Windows and it works on Windows but I haven’t got a Mac computer so I’m not sure if it will work on Mac also I used FL Studio as my DAW so it works in FL but I’m not sure if it works on other DAW so please respond and let me know if it works on your DAW and computer. This is a free download and feedback will be appreciated it’s partly what I like about synths dark, melodic and light and thick and comes with synths and basses. Â
This is the demo EP to my also free download VST plugin which I made the sounds myself using synth hardware and my Tascam audio recorder which is a bit of a puzzle putting it together. I would call it synth music and is something I just put together as a demo but you can have it. The plugin can be found under the Free Downloads page under the G.N.L. Hub>VST Downloads where free VSTs await.
