I wanted to make another VST plugin, so here it is, my next project, bringing you edgy and dystopian sounds for your music. I used a keyboard that a friend gave me to make the sounds, and then I used FXs to change the sound into something more different. I also used Romplur and free photo-shopping software called Gimp to put it together and make it into a VST. I was inspired by something I read and mentioned Electronic Dystopia, which is something I do now and then, and I already made a sample pack with the same title, but I’m happier with this one. I’m really into my dystopia music, and the subject is quite interesting, and now I think about it, I wouldn’t like to live in a dystopian or utopian world and that we are good the way we are in this crazy world. I think the world we are living in is a dystopian one, as no matter where you turn, there’s a bit of craziness, and everyone is losing their minds. I made the demo tracks below with Electronic music in mind, but I think there are a few sounds you could use in other genres, like Electronic Dance Music, just give it a go.
I’m back with another free VST plugin for Windows and Mac and this one is a Vocoder of 93 Vocoder sounds. I used Arturia’s Vocoder which I went through them and chose the best ones and I also recorded some phrases and words which were random but there is a special section for the space theme which I got the phrases online and made up as I go along. It’s not just me on the mic my friend and I wrote down some words and phrases and recorded them on my phone as I record all my stuff on my phone using a free app that does the job then I used the Vocoder to make the sounds and Romplur to put it altogether. If you have the Arturia Collection and you have the Vocoder you can actually add your own samples over the presets to come up with different sounds and there was quite a lot to choose from so I was in heaven whilst making the sounds. I made the GUI using Gimp a free open-source software which I use quite a lot and I don’t go a day without using the software and seem to get some good results out of it with the right faffing about. The plugin covers the genres Jungle/Drum and Bass, House, Electronic and Synthwave those are the genres I made the demos with but you are free to try other genres or overlay them with your own vocals it’s all up to you. Each Vocoder sound is labelled and ready to use in your DAW and I’ve tested the Windows version but I haven’t got a Mac so I’m not sure if it will work for Mac but you can always download it and give it a go.Â
