25/04/2022 - New Album Release; 13 Moons

cover

It’s a bit early but I decided to do a Halloween album using my cassette shoebox I bought a while ago and still haven’t got full use of it but I’m thinking and using it when I feel like I can and have a good idea. The album consists of taped and nontape instrumental tracks that I taped the samples on the recorder and then chopped them up a bit to make the final sounds so technically there are two versions to some of the tracks on the album. As I said I know it’s a bit early but I was messing about and thought on the spot to make a Halloween album using the recorder as I like the eerie sound to the track which reminded me of some of my old mess about tracks I used to make also using the tape player as I was a tape deck boy. I would say I miss the cassette tape but I don’t but I would say I miss fiddling about with the tapes and the fact you could bootleg anything I’m sorry but I did record a lot of my songs off the radio when I was younger but yes digital is better.  The tracks are eerie and slow and melodic to get ready for Halloween or for music for the day which is still a long way to go but I’m sure it will come round fast. I’ll probably do another Halloween album nearer the time but for now, it’s nearly summer so I’m making House, Jungle, and other rave genres, for now, that’s all up on Soundcloud.

Music News – New Album Release; Space Lemonade

25/04/2022 - New Album Release; Space Lemonade

Space Lemonade is a what I call this album aka Afrofuturism music which is a new concept music-wise and I see there isn’t a big splash in the music world so I thought being I was interested in the topic and wanted to try something new I thought I’d make a new album as there was one before but it didn’t turn out the way I liked it so I made another one but this time without too much of the bongos, there’s an album with bongos and other African drums that wasn’t too great and this one is without the African drums and more Sci-Fi mixed with Sci-Fi music genres like G Funk and Synthy genres. The album was inspired by the old genres like G Funk, Electro, and other synth-based genres that were Sci-Fi and synthy that I used to listen to growing up and really feel the music. I would say it’s the 80s inspired even though it the not the normal Synthwave album you will hear and the sounds come from the 80s but also the 70s when there was a big popular thing with Sci-Fi here in the UK but also it was on a lot on the TV worldwide and also in fashion but that was before my time and I was born in the 80s a decade after. It was after watching the film Black Panther that I decided to make some Afrofuturism too after getting a few ideas from the film which I and the public thought was inspirational.

Music News – New EP Release; Race Harmonies

NEWS

16/04/2022 - New Album Release; Race Harmomnies

I made this album ages ago but under a different name but I changed the name and released it on the 21st of March a couple of years ago which is anti-racism on that day and a good day to release a synthy instrumental album on a day against racism. I would like to say it’s gotten better over the decades but I feel it’s gone both ways and now is just a race row or war at the worse with what you identify with, that’s how I feel. The album is about racism and how I feel about and deal with it and being in the middle of the race row which is where I exactly want to be. But my experiences have been good and bad for all the right and wrong reasons. They say I’m lucky to be biracial as I’m in the middle but I feel it’s not and get it from all sides from the strangest stuff to the obvious I have been called all sorts of names for my race and background but I don’t care and I’m proud of who I am and I really don’t see what all the fuss is about when it comes to disliking someone because of their nationality, be proud of all you are and it’s not your fault they think everyone is the same as the next person lol, please read a book though….the right one!

Synthology Mixtape

A special mixtape of synthy vibes I made from 2018 and am now giving away for free as a free mixtape download. I made all the shouts and stuff to I like to get my hands messy so I made some shouts and tags using my own voice and free sound FXs from online, anyway enjoy the free download.

06/04/2022 - New Mixtape Release; Synthia's Mixtapes 3

The third part of the series Synthia’s Mixtapes and is a free download on Bandcamp as they are tracks I once released and can’t put them out again as I’ve changed my artist name from Vision Of Colour to Gas No Light and those are the rules so I’m giving it away for free. I put these beats on a mixtape album as I wanted to release them again as I liked them but I couldn’t put them on Spotify etc so I decided to give it away as a free download and as part of a four part series of synthy or synergy – synth beats with energy. I like to make synth beats on top of the House and Jungle and Drum & Bass and the other genres that I touch on now and then like UK Garage and UK Funky but when it comes to playing the keyboard I like to play over synthy tracks as I have more reign on the projects and gives me more ideas like creative wise but I like to make lots of different beats.

04/04/2022 - New Mixtape Release; Synthia's Mixtapes 2

Part two of the Synthia’s Mixtapes series I’m doing is Vaporwave and general synthy beats from downtempo to upbeat and is a free download on Bandcamp. The idea came when I had a little visual and I thought to get the inventive side out of me and do something that was a little different from what I usually do which is just make music with no imagination and that’s boring I like to see if I could get a theme or feel from my music I make and most of the time I do but the rest is so so the stuff I don’t even finish making some tracks. The mixtape is a free download on Bandcamp but feels free to donate if you want. The mixtape was first recorded on a cassette tape but that didn’t go too well and I ended up deleting it and doing the normal version without the cassette deck as it came out soft and a bit hissy to enjoy the music but it did remind me of what it sounded like on a stereo.

03/04/2022 - New Mixtape Release; Synthia's Mixtapes 1

Synthia’s Mixtapes is a free download on Bandcamp that was inspired by music and technology with the use of robots. The whole backdrop was Synthia is a musical robot with all the latest gadgets and accessories for the musician and has built-in speakers and MP3 sockets to play music where she finds the best ones and plays it oh it’s also set in space even though it doesn’t have a space theme in the songs, not these ones but funny enough I do have some that I will put out soon a space EP and mini album which I have finished already. They are some of the old tracks that I can’t release anymore as I can’t release them twice on the major platforms so I thought I’d make a mixtape and give it away for free. The mixtape is a synthesizer instrumental mixtape and a mixture of dark and light with upbeat and mellow tracks that I liked and thought it be a shame to waste the good tracks so I’m giving it away for free.
