27/02/2023 - New EP Release; Year's Go By

A synthy EP of Synthwave stuff I made and now on all the major platforms. I called it Year’s Go By as they say time is flying by and I barely remember what I did the other year which feels like I lost my mind a little lol not lol. I was born in the 80s so what that’s now under 4 decades on this earth and it’s hard to say how much it has changed for the good and for the worst or though I feel there is some sort of back peddling going on and a fight with humanity more then ever. They say the world is going get more manic and that might be true who knows but with real threats of destruction it’s hard to tell what is going to happen but I know you can’t stop the threat of things like terrorism and global disasters from happening and that’s just the world we live in now a days and forever. I do miss being young though and living in a more stress free environment but I’m not going lie I do like being a adult and  enjoy having the privileges of some things that kids don’t get but I miss being young but most importantly being in a more safer environment. But saying that things are more easy to get at like the things you want and it’s reasonable well some of it is and I ain’t talking the silly stuff that has no meaning to me like fashion items but I do like fashion though it’s just I’m more Primark lol, okay call me cheap then. Talking of fashion I decided not to but that NAFA jacket online I didn’t know if it was real or not and there was no way of verifying it so I saved my money but I do like retro designs from the 80s and 90s and would re wear them if I shopped fashionable for a change but my style is a hoodie and jeans with trainers and you can’t go wrong with that.

Decades Of Synthesizers – Selection 1

As part of my live music sessions, I recorded and put on YouTube for your entertainment. This is the 70s edition so all the old retro synthesizers from that era. I would name them but I can’t remember which synth plugins they are but I know I used the Moog for some of the tracks. I will be making more live sessions real soon so if you want to see that or any of the demos I made please go to my YouTube channel @GasNoLight.

24/02/2023 - New Album Release; Decades Of Synthesizers - Selection 1

So I’m trying to get into live streaming so I had this idea of making songs from that era with synthesizers from that era from the 70s, 80s and stopping off at the 90s. There is a bonus track in this one as  I forgot to unmute the sound and it came out silent so I decided to put it with the rest as  a bonus track. From the 70s I used the Buchla, Mini Moog, CS80 and Modular from Arturia plugins. From the 80s I used the Juno 6 and OB-XA from Arturia and the D50 by Roland plugins. The 90s I used the Roland TB-303, Roland JV-1080 and the also Roland Jupiter 106. I’ve always been obsessed with the sound of synthesizers and bending sound and I always wanted loads of synthesizers even though I was told I wasn’t be able to afford them all as they are quite expensive but thanks to plugins the world is your oyster and there are so many good replicas  of hardware synths you don’t need to buy a actual keyboard based synth or hardware and take up all that space but it would be nice to own one or two I  wouldn’t know which one to buy first as I have a few I like. When I was infront of real synths or hardware I liked the Arp 2600 even though I thought some or most of the sounds were pretty dark but they had a couple of nice sounds too which blended well with the dark thick sounds. Also anything from Roland I liked the whole collection but the Juno 106 I liked the sounds from that for various of stuff I just play over the drum beat on number of songs after digging into my stash of made up drum patterns I made already I was more practical back then but more get on with it and make the beats when I need to. You can check out my live streams here they are a bit long but feel free to skip a bit if you want to.Â
