A bit of a change a bit of Jungle/Drum & Bass all vocal and for the summer ahead which is now in less than 6 days and counting oh man ow I love the summer. I did this a couple of months back and it was on the to-do list but I kind of forgot about it which is good as there is a gap between the House music which I’ve been making quite a lot of recently. I called it rave on as my old name was Rave Out and my Twitter name is @raveout85 but guess I should change it to something like gasnolight or something similar. Also to all the people getting their freaks on doing this and that we all must rave on even if you are at the beginning keep going as you never know where it might lead and could end up with your success never mind the downfall cos everyone has one. It’s hard to get motivated once you are stuck in limbo but once out of that rut it becomes easier and every day becomes fun again well it did for me. I’m kind of in limbo at the moment not knowing where this is going to lead but I have hope, strength and determination to overcome the hurdles or at least push the boundaries once more. Being productive in life and doing the best you can do is like going out and having a good time you give 199 per cent you have a good time making memories and you go home and wait for the next best thing to happen as everyone has their ups and downs but it is like partying and you never know who you might meet or see or hear I miss my old life. Rave on also means we must fight bad feelings and overcome the barriers as again everyone is faced with a challenge big or small and I think we can’t sit there and wallow for too long as it leaves you in a bad place and worse off take it from me I may have had lots of highs but that was to make up for all the bad times and to do better in life and live life not sit at home like now but to be honest I’m happy now or though I would like people to bounce ideas off but I’m kind of happy I still want more from life people say I’m being greedy but in fact I just like a good adventure and something to do instead of sitting at home doing nothing it does get numb when I just sit there and do nothing my mind starts wondering off. I can’t sit there in silence though I have to have music playing not always loud it’s mostly quiet but I never got why people would sit in a room in silence for months something ain’t right and anyway who wants to listen to the noisy world around us I would rather listen to music all day every day and all different genres. I guess it’s having music constantly around me from my old house to my day-to-day life and my Walkman it’s everywhere thankfully I don’t know where I would be without music it’s my pain reliever and energizer thank you for the music lol. Â
Another House remix album of new tracks I made within the last couple of months and I fancied doing another remix album as I wasn’t happy with the other one, but I mean it was okay. This is going to be a recurring album of remixes that makes the change from the original tracks and I love making remixes so expect a lot more in the future but every now and then. I called it six-pack remixes as they are meant to be better than the originals but I can’t get it right every time so it’s give and take. It’s kind of funny as I was quite a fit person with a six-pack showing and now it’s just flab but I think it’s important to be happy with whatever you got and try not to feed into the negative of the media but I’m a man so I have no idea what’s it’s like for the ladies and being bombarded with ad after ad it must be bad. I always say it’s the mind that must be fit never mind the body and arms or whatever as being healthy in the mind is better than going to the gym but I must admit I do need some sort of exercise routine. I used to walk a lot and people complain that I walk too fast but I like to get there without all the slowing down and the hold-ups, I wouldn’t mind starting swimming again or hiking. I must admit without a dog I hardly go out for walks as I used to be adventurous and more active but now I like to sit at home and be on my computer, I guess the computer has turned me lazy in a way but I must get out of it and start looking into the world instead of being at home 24/7 but at least I’m entertained right. I’ve been making lots of House and Jungle/Drum & Bass in the last couple of weeks and I am getting ready for the summer ahead. It’s already been gorgeous weather I’ve been using my fan to keep cool as living in a flat can get quite hot it’s like being upstairs in a House when the heating has been on but I love the heat but at the same time I like being cool which is why I bought the fan in the first place but pricy with the electric though. My favourite pastime is listening to summer tracks when it’s hot and I love to listen to certain tracks around summer time hopefully, this album will help you cool off this summer no matter what you are doing. Music has always been a summer thing and is funny how many good times I have had with summer music it’s all about making memories and having a good summer but granted not every summer is going to be a good one. I will be releasing more House tracks throughout summer and some Jungle/Drum & Bass and also some synthy stuff all in the waiting room and ready to be released but some are already been green light so look out for that in the next couple of weeks and also over the summer.
A UK Funky EP for you and some of what I think is my best so far I didn’t put any instruments over the bass and drums and I think it came out much better than the stuff I was doing so I have now decided to spare the instruments on most of my House and other club genres like UK Funky, Jungle/Drum & Bass and UK Garage which I don’t make a lot of but I am thinking of doing some more in the near future. I called it Black Smoke In The Mirror as the black smoke represents toxins and the mirror is the reflection staring back at you which could be anything. One example is watching conspiracies on YouTube or the latest gossip or something that is a stereotype video with someone being hateful against a particular race it can be damaging and two examples of that are the whole biracial topic and Aaliyah’s untimely death with Beyonce in the middle and Jay of course. Let’s start with the bi-racial topic as I think it’s a good one and needs to be discussed, being mixed race or biracial I face a lot of backlash from both white and black and all the above but still people and I’m not getting at the people who are on YouTube debating the whole thing it needs to be discussed but the people who have no idea what they are on about and join the conversation and make all these accusations without knowing what the person is like. Thankfully I have knowledge of both my black African side and my white Scottish side from an early age and I am not the person to be calling any race a dirty name let alone someone who is black or mixed race or quarter cast so I find it hard when people say things like oh you only got to where you were as before I fall ill with a mental illness I was going places and I did a bit of kids TV work behind the scenes, I was a dummy in the music industry for Ant Records a House record company, I also went to uni and got put on a placement for a sound picker for GTA which I saw the ad for it in the Voice Newspaper. But when they say you only got to where you were cos your race that does my head in it’s like go and read the daily mail or something Fox News for you international people. First of all, I worked hard and was at the right place at the right time I said this a few times but I’ll say it again I was at a place called Fire Station which was where all the promoters in town DJs and MC and music producers used to meet and hang out and there were always propositions and motions taking place it was fun to be around. I know there were a lot of different races working at all the places I mentioned and most of the places were fair but I do hate when people just assume it’s like saying you only got there cos you were on your back it’s annoying. The other thing is these damn conspiracies that keep popping up like the death of Aaliyah which, to be honest, I had a turn after her death with my mental health and that was all to do with the conspiracies before and after death which at the time there were lots of different conspiracies with the famous and some really did make me ill and looking at everything in funny angles thinking I had inner knowledge of celebrity life. I’m over it now but it did take some time to get over it and to stop thinking so mental as it’s not good for my health so please be careful what Kool-Aid you are sipping cos it could lead you down a funny path.Â
A mixed bag of House and a Jungle tracks that I made recently and was a single as I felt like doing a single I haven’t done much of them only the odd one or two so I decided to make one for fun and put it out on all the digitals and more summery music for the nice weather. It’s been so nice I got my fan on it’s been a hot night, to be honest, but thank goodness for the fan lol. I have more club tracks lined up like this and I think it’s a massive improvement but I let you be the judge of that when they are released within the next two weeks but should be less than that, or alternatively go to my Soundcloud page the link is in the top header menu with all the other socials. As the title reads love isn’t just a thing and it’s not a game either I hate to see people in misery cos they mistreated the person so love them right basically and that does count me as a person why not. We have all been in love I remember one person I won’t say her name but I thought we would be together for eternity but it wasn’t meant to be we were on both different paths like she wanted to settle down and live dare I say normal lives and I also loved the excitement and a bit of change every now and then so that was one thing and the main reason why we dare I say again fall apart but it didn’t end sour which is always a good thing. I bring that up as it was at that time I realised that love wasn’t a game and even though I have seen many car accidents when it came to love it dawned on me when I was around 15 that I was to take it seriously or have no love at all. Turns out other people wouldn’t take it as seriously as I did but hey we were young and dumb so it’s all in the past but if I was married with kids that would be different…sort of. I’m very picky with what I do and for example who I will have kids with if I will ever have any at all which I doubt but there were times when I nearly did and I was always careful it was the right choice again turns out that wasn’t the right choice to make for me and I enjoy being single with no ties and kids and being in a relationship does that and I like to be free and do whatever I like without the hawking and the arguing etc, no remain single and be happy every day without all the stress anyway I enjoy being alone but I do admit I need some more friends to bounce off from and do random stuff and talk about random stuff that would be nice in a way but for now I’m happy making music and doing this and that online that makes me happy but love is a serious thing and shouldn’t be treated as second-hand luggage but of course choose who you fall in love with friends or other and love does include your friends even though I find it hard myself to say this words “I love you” there lol but love is here so everyone stop whining about love doesn’t love me I hate the world cos that isn’t going to get you back in motion and I like to prepare for the future.
It’s been a while since I did a free download, so I decided to make a single from Beyonce’s latest track off her album Renaissance and my favourite on that album, Cozy. I was inspired after listening to someone else’s remix and that was titled Cozy in 1994 it was a dance track right on point actually with all the right stuff on the track but that lead me to want to make my own track and I thought I do a couple of versions from House, Jungle/Drum & Bass, UK Funky and UK Garage all in club style as the track I heard was very 90s club scene and I love my club scene. I like Cozy as it says a lot and the beat is infectious something I could dance to even though the beat is kind of slowish but at a reasonable speed. Quick thoughts on the album well it’s not over-hyped and I enjoyed it apart from one or two tracks that were more ballads and something I don’t really like that much but I do appreciate the singing. Being comfortable in your own skin is very important and love starts within which means you have to love yourself more than you love the people around you in some ways as being comfortable with who you are and what you are about is more important than material things and even self appearance even though it is good to look after all the above but being secure within yourself leads to a happier and fuller you, not a shell in the corner worried about this and that cos at the end of the day hanging around get’s you nowhere in life which is something I have to tell myself that and doing it right now. Being content is also good but saying that you can’t be too cosy within your surroundings is good to step out of the box every now and then and try something new and wild. I can’t remember the last wild thing I did but I feel like I want to do something with my newfound confidence anything is better than staying in all day and I love to get out and see life but the last decade or two I haven’t been feeling myself but I feel like I’m getting better and am looking for new stuff to try and do cos as they say you have plenty time to rest when you die and hopefully my time is not soon but you never know. Summer is just around the corner and I might actually get out a lot more if it’s not too hot to go out but I wanted to go to London again I haven’t been for years and would be good to go out and have a bit of fun for the day. The last time I went was in 2011 when I went on a day trip I went to London’s Dungeon and The London Bridge Experience it was so fun lol I was lauging all day with the jokes we was having.
Getting ready for the summer with a 4 track House EP called Just Another Day as at the moment my life is quite boring and not have much activity apart from doing the music and making various stuff which I have put all on this site. I’ve said this a few times but life in the 90s and 00s was a lot more fun and there were a lot of things to join and do, now with all the funding cutting and the multiple disasters including the terrorist attacks life has changed quite a lot but we seem to go back and forth at the moment with stances and various of groups joining and declaring themselves x, y, z but hey that’s a different story. As always I don’t know what I’m doing this summer I want to get out more and I haven’t got a dog and so I barely get out, to be honest, I went out the other day and it wasn’t that long of a journey around 20 minutes on foot but walking up the hill on the way back I was so tired but I was glad when I got back. It reminds me of the days I used to go on two to five hours walks sometimes all night I once walked from Bristol my home town to Wales and they had Welsh signs and that night was a long one and my feet were hurting like crazy and I woke up with my back of my legs feeling numb I wasn’t on anything lol but I love walking in the night time when it’s quiet and it gets the dog out and I used to enjoy walking but now not so much but I will one day. But yes who knows what I’ll do this summer I’ll definitely be making more summery tracks like House, Chillout and other summer tracks I might even do some reggae but definitely some more Jungle/Drum and Bass as I seem to make a lot of that and that all can be found on my Beatport page I’ll post the link below the player where it always is. Thanks to the people who are buying and streaming the tracks on a variety of platforms, I’ve nearly earned £11.00 and have been getting quite a lot of streams on YouTube Music I hope you like the tracks and thanks for your support it means a lot to me since I am a one band man and do my own fancy moves. I will be making more synthy stuff as well but don’t know when though who knows.
