A UK Funky EP for you and some of what I think is my best so far I didn’t put any instruments over the bass and drums and I think it came out much better than the stuff I was doing so I have now decided to spare the instruments on most of my House and other club genres like UK Funky, Jungle/Drum & Bass and UK Garage which I don’t make a lot of but I am thinking of doing some more in the near future. I called it Black Smoke In The Mirror as the black smoke represents toxins and the mirror is the reflection staring back at you which could be anything. One example is watching conspiracies on YouTube or the latest gossip or something that is a stereotype video with someone being hateful against a particular race it can be damaging and two examples of that are the whole biracial topic and Aaliyah’s untimely death with Beyonce in the middle and Jay of course. Let’s start with the bi-racial topic as I think it’s a good one and needs to be discussed, being mixed race or biracial I face a lot of backlash from both white and black and all the above but still people and I’m not getting at the people who are on YouTube debating the whole thing it needs to be discussed but the people who have no idea what they are on about and join the conversation and make all these accusations without knowing what the person is like. Thankfully I have knowledge of both my black African side and my white Scottish side from an early age and I am not the person to be calling any race a dirty name let alone someone who is black or mixed race or quarter cast so I find it hard when people say things like oh you only got to where you were as before I fall ill with a mental illness I was going places and I did a bit of kids TV work behind the scenes,  I was a dummy in the music industry for Ant Records a House record company, I also went to uni and got put on a placement for a sound picker for GTA which I saw the ad for it in the Voice Newspaper. But when they say you only got to where you were cos your race that does my head in it’s like go and read the daily mail or something Fox News for you international people. First of all, I worked hard and was at the right place at the right time I said this a few times but I’ll say it again I was at a place called Fire Station which was where all the promoters in town DJs and MC and music producers used to meet and hang out and there were always propositions and motions taking place it was fun to be around. I know there were a lot of different races working at all the places I mentioned and most of the places were fair but I do hate when people just assume it’s like saying you only got there cos you were on your back it’s annoying. The other thing is these damn conspiracies that keep popping up like the death of Aaliyah which, to be honest, I had a turn after her death with my mental health and that was all to do with the conspiracies before and after death which at the time there were lots of different conspiracies with the famous and some really did make me ill and looking at everything in funny angles thinking I had inner knowledge of celebrity life. I’m over it now but it did take some time to get over it and to stop thinking so mental as it’s not good for my health so please be careful what Kool-Aid you are sipping cos it could lead you down a funny path.
